Q21Network Access

SIMULATION R1 is preconfigured with all required commands. All physical cabling is installed and verified. Configure connectivity to the end devices. 1. Configure SW-1 port E0/1 to carry traffic for the Cisco IP phone and PC. 2. Configure SW-2 E0/1 to carry traffic for PC2. 3. Configure VLAN 10, named “Engineering,” on SW-1. 4. Configure the SW-1-to-SW-2 link to use the vendor-neutral neighbor-discovery protocol. 5. Configure the SW-1-to-R1 link so it does not permit the Cisco neighbor-discovery protocol. <AnswerReveal answer={" "} explanation={"Configure SW-1 E0/1 as an access port in VLAN 10 with `switchport voice vlan 11`, so the attached PC uses VLAN 10 and the Cisco IP phone uses VLAN 11. Configure SW-2 E0/1 as an access port in VLAN 30. On SW-1, create VLAN 10 and name it `Engineering`. Enable both `lldp transmit` and `lldp receive` on E0/0 on SW-1 and SW-2; LLDP is the vendor-neutral discovery protocol. Apply `no cdp enable` on SW-1 E0/2 to suppress Cisco Discovery Protocol traffic toward R1."} />

that's not true because when you enable "lldp run" globally it turns on lldp on every interface.

skip cdp run

1. Configure SW-1 switch port 0/1 to carry traffic for the Cisco IP phone and PC 2. Configure SW-2 E0/1 to carry traffic for PC2 3. Configure VLAN 10 with the name “Engineering” on SW-1 4. Configure the link between SW-1 and SW-2 to use the vendor neutral neighbor discovery protocol 5. Configure the link on SW-1 to R1 so that it does not allow the Cisco neighbor discovery protocol to pass Task 1: SW-1(Config)#int e0/1 SW-1(Config-if)#switchport mode access SW-1(Config-if)#switchport access vlan 10 SW-1(Config-if)#switchport voice vlan 11 Task 2: SW-2(Config)#int e0/1 SW-2(Config-if)#switchport mode access SW-2(Config-if)#switchport access vlan 30 Task 3: SW-1(Config)#int vlan 10 SW-1(Config-vlan)#name Engineering Task 4: SW-1(Config)#lddp run SW-1(Config)#int range e0/1-2 SW-1(Config-if-range)#no lldp transmit SW-1(Config-if-range)#no lldp receive SW-2(Config)#lddp run SW-2(Config)#int e0/1 SW-2(Config-if)#no lldp transmit SW-2(Config-if)#no lldp receive Task 5: SW-1(Config)# int e0/1 Sw-1(Config-if)#no cdp enable write memory

Hi guys, I think the sequence of logic is like this: Task-1 SW-1 conf t interface e0/1 switchport mode access switchport access vlan 10 switchport voice vlan 11 no shut end wr Task-2 SW-2 conf t interface e0/1 switchport mode access switchport access vlan 30 no shu end wr Task-3 SW-1 conf t vlan 10 name Engineering end wr Task-4 Sw-1 conf t interface e0/0 lldp transmit lldp receive no cdp enable end wr SW-2 conf t interface e0/0 lldp riceved lldp transmit no cdp enable end wr Task-5 SW-1 interface e0/2 no cdp enable end wr

I think for task 5 you should also turn on the transmit and receive commands for LLDP on the 0/0 interfaces between SW1 and SW2.
1
Man, i think you need to review this question. 4. Configure the link between SW-1 and SW-2 to use the vendor neutral neighbor discovery protocol
1
When you only use "lldp receive" and "lldp transmit", and then run "show lldp neighbors", it says " LLDP is not enabled"
1
You need to create the VLAN first before assigning the interface/s to it
1
not on Cisco switches apparently...
